Now that Conductor Cloud is shutting down, the best place to switch is Traycer. Traycer is free and open source ([MIT](https://github.com/traycerai/traycer)), runs on Windows, Linux and macOS plus iOS and Android, and runs [22 coding agents](https://docs.traycer.ai/agents-and-models/coding-agents), including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and OpenCode, side by side. Conductor Cloud goes read-only on Nov 13 and shuts down on Nov 20, 2026.

For agents that run off your laptop, Traycer's free [remote hosts](https://docs.traycer.ai/concepts/hosts/remote-hosts) run agents on another machine you own, and Traycer's [pricing](https://traycer.ai/pricing) lists cloud sandboxes as an optional paid add-on. Here are the dates, what to export, and how to set up Traycer in a few minutes.

## When does Conductor Cloud shut down?

**Update, Nov 5, 2026:** Conductor stopped new sign-ups on Nov 4, 2026. Conductor Cloud goes read-only on Nov 13 and shuts down on Nov 20, when Conductor begins deleting Cloud user data. The local Mac app gets new models and critical bug fixes until early 2027 ([announcement](https://www.conductor.build/announcement), [changelog](https://www.conductor.build/changelog/0.93.0-conductor-is-joining-meta)).

| Date | What happens | Source |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Nov 4, 2026 | New sign-ups and app downloads close. Free users can't upgrade; Pro users keep Pro features for free. | [announcement](https://www.conductor.build/announcement) |
| Nov 13, 2026 | Conductor Cloud goes read-only. You can read old chats and export data, but can't send new messages. Active subscribers get a refund. | [announcement](https://www.conductor.build/announcement) |
| Nov 20, 2026 | Conductor Cloud shuts down, and Conductor begins deleting Cloud user data. | [announcement](https://www.conductor.build/announcement) |
| Early 2027 | The local Mac app stops getting new models and critical bug fixes and starts winding down; Conductor says it will delete all user data when the app shuts down. | [announcement](https://www.conductor.build/announcement) |

Conductor is joining Meta, which [Axios](https://www.axios.com/2026/11/04/meta-acquires-ai-coding-startup-conductor) reports has acquired it; financial terms were not disclosed.

## What should I export before Nov 20?

- **Cloud workspaces and chats.** Right-click each cloud workspace in the Mac app and choose Transfer to local ([announcement](https://www.conductor.build/announcement)).
- **Everything else.** Go to Settings → Account → Export data to download an archive of all your Conductor data ([announcement](https://www.conductor.build/announcement)).
- **Branches.** Push any branch you want to keep to your git remote, so it doesn't live only in a cloud workspace.
- **Do it before Nov 13.** After that, Cloud is read-only: you can still export, but agents can't take new messages.

## How does Traycer compare with Conductor?

| Isolation | Each agent on its own git worktree ([worktrees guide](https://docs.traycer.ai/guides/parallel-agents-on-worktrees)) | A git worktree per workspace ([parallel agents](https://www.conductor.build/docs/concepts/parallel-agents)) |
| Off-laptop agents | Free remote hosts on a machine you own; cloud sandboxes listed as a paid add-on ([remote hosts](https://docs.traycer.ai/concepts/hosts/remote-hosts), [pricing](https://traycer.ai/pricing)) | Conductor Cloud, shutting down Nov 20, 2026 ([announcement](https://www.conductor.build/announcement)) |

Two honest gaps: Traycer has no SSO or SAML yet ([teams](https://docs.traycer.ai/account/teams)), and its Git Diff has no line comments; comments live on artifacts ([git diff](https://docs.traycer.ai/panels/git-diff)). ## How do I switch from Conductor to Traycer?

1. **Download Traycer** for macOS, Windows or Linux ([download](https://traycer.ai/download)).
2. **Connect your agents.** Use the Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or OpenCode subscriptions you already have ([coding agents](https://docs.traycer.ai/agents-and-models/coding-agents)).
3. **Open your repo and start a Task.** Run several agents in parallel, each on its own worktree ([worktrees guide](https://docs.traycer.ai/guides/parallel-agents-on-worktrees)).
4. **Port your setup script.** Move your Conductor setup script to Traycer's per-repo setup script ([setup and teardown scripts](https://docs.traycer.ai/concepts/worktrees/scripts)).
5. **Optional: add a remote host.** On another machine, run npm install -g @traycerai/cli, then traycer login, then traycer host ensure, and activate the host in Settings ([remote hosts](https://docs.traycer.ai/concepts/hosts/remote-hosts)).
6. **Install the mobile app** for iOS or Android to follow and drive agents from your phone ([mobile app](https://docs.traycer.ai/account/mobile-app)).
7. **Bring your team.** Share a Task by email or GitHub handle, or move the whole team to Sync ([sharing](https://docs.traycer.ai/panels/sharing)).

## Does Traycer have a hosted option like Conductor Cloud?

Traycer has two ways to run agents off your laptop. Remote hosts are free: install the Traycer CLI on another machine you own, sign in, and run traycer host ensure; on Linux the host runs as a systemd user service ([remote hosts](https://docs.traycer.ai/concepts/hosts/remote-hosts)). Traycer's pricing page also lists cloud sandboxes as an optional add-on at additional cost ([pricing](https://traycer.ai/pricing)).
